Medication Disposal

medreturn-logo“We are excited to have a permanent place for the citizens of Barron County to dispose of unneeded medications anytime, without having to wait for a take back day,” states Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald. “Prescription drug use is on the rise, and we hope people will use this service to keep unused medications out of their homes, making them less available to youth and adults seeking the drugs.”

Med Return

The Med Return drop box is a green bin, which resembles a library book drop and will be available for residents to drop off medications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a safe, effective and sustainable way to collect unwanted or expired household prescription, over-the-counter and other unused medicines. Funding for Med Return drop box program came from the Barron County Safe & Stable Families Coalition who is partnering with law enforcement to fight prescription drug abuse in Barron County. The drop box will be located right outside the dispatch office at the Justice Center in Barron located at 1420 State Highway 25 N, Barron WI, 54812. For more information contact the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.
